BOXTOROW Names Austin Jacques to Preseason All-America Team
Charlotte, N.C. (Aug. 10, 2015) –Johnson C. Smith senior linebacker Austin Jacques added another preseason designation ahead of the 2015 season when he was named to the BOXTOROW Preseason All-America team on Monday.
Jacques, a Springdale, Md. product, led JCSU in total tackles during his junior campaign, totaling 130 stops, including 71 unassisted. Jacques also posted 18 tackles for loss in 2014 and had two interceptions. Jacques earned first team All-CIAA honors in 2014 and was also tabbed as a preseason All-CIAA pick for the upcoming season.
The Golden Bulls begin preparations for the 2015 season on Wednesday, Aug. 13 when practice begins on the JCSU campus. The Golden Bulls, under new head coach Kermit Blount, will kickoff the season on Saturday, Sept. 5 when they host Wingate. The matchup with the Bulldogs is slated for 6:00 p.m. at JCSU’s Irwin Belk Complex.
