The Johnson C. Smith Men’s Cross Country team finished 11th in the 2015 CIAA Cross Country Championships held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. on Thursday morning.Senior Waynee Hyman (Warwick, N.Y.) led the way for JCSU, finishing the 8K course in 23rd with a 30:48.

Smith safety Carlo Thomas and head coach Kermit Blount earned CIAA weekly honors as named by the league on Tuesday morning.Thomas, an East Orange, N.J. product, earned the league’s Defensive Back of the Week award after setting a new CIAA record and JCSU school record by intercepting four Fayetteville State passes.
